Closer to the Heavens

Dining on the ground will feel like a snoozefest after you’ve experienced supper amidst the stars in Paris, surrounded by nothing but glass and midnight blue skies. Designed by artist Laurent Grasso, the Nomiya restaurant will open for one year on the roof of the Palais de Tokyo. The glass cube construction makes for optimal views of the city, giving an entirely new meaning to the notion of rooftop dining. The goal was to manufacture the feeling of “floating,” Grasso explained. The idea sounds beautiful and a tad frightening, and this is precisely why Chic is enticed! We wonder if foie gras tastes any differently at high altitudes…
