Fashion School House Rocks

So often, fashion students’ final collections end up looking like, well, the final collections of fashion students–although that’s not to say that that they won’t go on to achieve greatness. But Irina Shaposhnikova of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp managed to defy the cliches and put out looks worth remembering. Chic Report came across these photos of her graduation show, called Crystallographica, and we’re in love…

I agree, the usual work that can often be seen at graduation fashion shows can be dull, but at International Fashion Academy, IFA Paris, our students really used the knowledge they had been taught by French instructors and the environment they have been studying in, Paris and Shanghai, to create truely new and insprired garments which woowed all. To have a look at these garments and some of the projects IFA Paris students have been invited to do (including the outfits for a Coca-cola advertising campaign) go to http://www.ifa-edu.fr

These are such interesting pieces. I love the prismatic look. The shine makes the “futuristic” quality seem less harsh and perhaps even a bit wearable. I also love the shiny nylons.
