Azzedine Alaïa wasn’t exactly in Anna Wintour’s good graces this past week. After his work was virtually ignored in the grand scheme of “The Model as Muse” exhibit at The Met, he pulled his dresses from the event, and the likes of Naomi and Linda supported him by boycotting the gala. Just 24 hours later, Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless Alaïa column paired with a Peter Soronen corset belt to Time’s 100 Most Influential People dinner last night…which surely must have put a smile on the designer’s face.
