While all latest Vogue talk has been about the September issue, it’s the October effort that might be actually getting greater attention. We’re hearing a rumor that Victoria Beckham is the cover model that month in a PR effort to compliment her perfume launch in the States. Though the chic entrepreneur has appeared on the cover of British and Russian editions, she’s yet to appear alone on the newsstands in America. Spice Girls made the front page together some 11 years ago. Beckham’s camp has tried to keep the details of her shoot very quiet though you can expect to see Posh in print like you’ve never seen her before.

Illustrator AleXsandro Palombo really outdid himself with these new works that highlight the world’s most famous fashion editor mafia, Michelle Obama fashion frenzy, and Diana Vreeland’s timeless superpower spirit.

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams SHOULD love each other. Julie & Julia is the second straight movie the two actresses have starred in together and yesterday they exchanged niceties at the film’s big premiere after party at Metropolitan Club full of good food and even better champagne. Plenty of guests complimented Adams on her Carolina Herrera gown while Streep is virtually guaranteed at least a Golden Globe nod for her turn as Julia Child.

Penelope Cruz looked dazzling in a Bottega Veneta Cruise 2009/10 Fever Spring Gabardine suit, top, and shoes at the English premiere of her latest Spanish effort, Broken Embraces.

Certainly fit for chic royalty, the Kings & Queens collection by Victoire de Castellane for Dior Joaillerie captures the essence of timelessness. Dasha Zhukova has made a series of interesting moves this week. First, she gave a very extensive interview about her rising profile and work at Pop. And now, it seems the magazine released a series of strange and fuzzy images from its very first upcoming editorial on their own website via an intern blog. Shot by Tung Walsh and styled by Tamara Rothstein, two fairly unknown models are quietly posing in everything from Margiela to McQueen in a Noir femme fatales-inspired effort. Our advice: when you leak something, at least make sure the pics aren’t taken with a camera phone…

It seems as though it’s been a summer-less summer thus far, with unpredictable monsoon-like weather causing soggy hair and umbrella wars on the crowded city sidewalks. As for relief? The perfect packable raincoat from Mackage has saved us many a time when we were sans-umbrella and wished to remain sans-makeshift poncho. And, between the chic packaging and the awesome styling of the coat itself, we might even wear it without the rain!
