The C’N'C Costume National show started late enough that several American editors had to abdicate in the name of Giorgio Armani, but in true Ennio Capasa fashion, that show went on! His inspiration sheet, left on every chair, is often filled with gems found in translation. Here, his inspiration for Fall 2009:

It seems like only yesterday that Chic Report was backstage at Gianfranco Ferré last October, witnessing Rachel Zoe gush to designers Tommaso and Roberto about how she couldn’t wait to dress her “girls” in Ferré confections. But alas, at today’s show, her absence was felt.  Rach, you’re probably filming that reality project, but c’mon–Mr. Armani would surely accommodate your camera crews, non? Chic spotted you partout during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week…don’t tell us that you’ve soured on Europe.

Lake Bell was undoubtedly the belle of the Frick ball last night in a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown and a Bally clutch to go along with it. “I love this dress,” she told Chic Report last night. “And hopefully it did these amazing surroundings justice!”

Janrob, noun: The Elle entity consisting of Joe Zee, Anne Slowey, and Robbie Myers. The Janrob is often found giggling amongst itself front-row. Not to be confused with JoCo, i.e. Joanna Coles, who is not the type.

Which glasses-wearing editrix (and chronic front-row fixture) appears to have had some work done recently? She has looked exceptionally “rested” this season…

Le tout Milan awaits Peter Dundas’ design debut at Emilio Pucci tommorow with bated breath, and the stellar invites are doing a fine job at buzz-building. This looks straightfoward, but it’s made entirely of leather. Leather chez Pucci? We are in Italy, after all–consider Chic intrigued
