If Derek Blasberg calls and wants to discuss les sujets XXX, it’s all in the name of journalism–we swear. The social scribe is reporting a piece on recessionary sex and several haute types have been approached for comment. (Jack? Lazaro? Chic can dream.)

Ivanka Trump enjoyed an evening at the movies last night during the Cinema Society premiere of New Moon, but there was no Mr. Kushner hooked to her shoulder. Where was hubby Jared? He was also taking in a show…at the Armory for the Victoria’s Secret Angel Show. Sorry, Ivanka…the Angels called!

Julianne Moore politely eschewed the press line at last night’s Cinema Society screening of her latest film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, but the actress did get chatty with one reporter, the ubiquitous Jeffrey Slonim. After saying goodbye to him and breezing into the theater without so much as a sound bite to other reporters (Chic compris), Slonim revealed that he and the actress had a past. “We went to high school together,” he said. “She was my homecoming date.”

Chic loves a celebration of all things glittery! Celerie Kemble, Fernando Santangelo and Starrett Zenko will host a “Shopping Soirée” on Tuesday, November 17 in Soho. The jewelry fête will feature confections by Justin Giunta, Alyssa Norton and Starrett Zenko (who we hear will be offering baubles from her mom’s Texas store from the ’70s and ’80s–”really awesome, weird designer things,” according to her friend, Vena Cava’s Lisa Mayock), as well as handbags by Alek Wek. Plenty of shiny treats to go around.

Dior and Claridge’s have teamed up for the 2009 holiday season to bring you a spectacular pine tree that will put Charlie Brown’s measly shrub to shame. John Galliano will break out the bulbs to trim a Chrstmas tree in the hotel’s foyer, and true to form, Galliano’s decorations will be delightfully unorthodox. According to these sketches, everything is looking a bit tropical…

Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana were spotted at Griffin by Chic Report last night, and it turns out the duo is plenty busy in New York. They flew from Italy to shoot their Spring 2010 campaign with Steven Klein and we hear much of the model lineup is the same from the previous season. But this week, the duo was using a studio in Brooklyn…
